  • NRMPS Honored During NCSBA Annual Conference

    Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) was honored in multiple ways during the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) annual conference in Greensboro, NC on Thursday, November 17, 2016. A total of five Board of Education Members, one NRMPS staff member and students from Nash Central High School were all recognized for different achievements.

  • NRMPS Celebrates a Successful United Way Campaign

    Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) celebrated another successful United Way campaign on Monday, December 5, 2016 during the Board of Education (BOE) Meeting at Rocky Mount High School (RMHS). The district collected a grand total of $62,714.34 for the United Way - Tar River Region during a campaign that was held from October 24 – November 4, 2016.

  • Nash Central High School Announces Softball Coaching Change

    Nash Central High School (NCHS) is pleased to announce a coaching change for the 2016-2017 school year. Coach Lauren McGrath, health and physical education teacher, will assume the duties of the varsity softball program.

  • Local Church Adopts Cedar Grove Elementary School

    Ridgecrest Worship Center of Rocky Mount, NC adopted Cedar Grove Elementary School for the 2016-2017 school year as a way to give back to the community. As one of their first projects since the adoption, the church gave every student at Cedar Grove Elementary School a brand new coat last week. Students were filled with excitement as they smiled and laughed while choosing their own fitted coat from the many available options.

  • Hurricane Matthew Make Up Days Plan

    The Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) Board of Education approved a make up day plan for the days missed due to Hurricane Matthew. The approval was made during the Monday, November 7, 2016 Board Meeting.

  • NRMPS Student Appointed to US Naval Academy

    On Friday, October 28, 2016, the Nash Central High School (NCHS) Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) Unit conducted their annual Area Manager’s Inspection (AMI). The inspection is an annual requirement for the program and a formal report is sent to the Naval Service Training Command and the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) Superintendent. Though this is an annual event, this year’s inspection was anything but routine. Adam Moore, a NCHS senior and NJROTC Cadet Commander, was appointed to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for the fall of 2017.

  • NRMPS Board of Education Receives NCSBA Gold Bell Award

    Members of the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) Board of Education attended the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) District 3 Meeting in Person County on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Board members received professional development and training via several breakout sessions that were offered.
